AlBasar International Foundation

AlBasar International Foundation is an international nonprofit. It provides free eye care treatment to children and adults in vulnerable communities and invests in hospitals and training programmes to build professional capacity. The organisation also offers therapeutic, preventative, educational, and awareness raising programmes. To date, it has has helped more than 25 million people across 46 countries.

Programmes

  • Capacity building programme

    The foundation develops colleges and training programmes that train the next generation of committed optometrists, nurses, and physicians. They have trained more than 750 graduates who are now able to provide quality and accessible eye care.

  • Cataract treatment

    The foundation provides free cataract treatment in vulnerable and hard-to-reach communities so individuals can gain their sight back.

  • Hospitals
    The organisation invests in infrastructure by building specialist hospitals that offer free eye care with the latest medical technology.

    Their school project provides thousands of children at schools with free eye tests and glasses.
