Al Alfi Foundation
Founded in 2008 by Moataz Alalfi, Al Alfi Foundation aims to foster an enabling environment for the realisation of a knowledge-based economy in Egypt. The organisation invests in human capital development through education, leadership, and entrepreneurship programmes providing training and scholarship opportunities for talented individuals, educators, researchers and scientists in STEM fields. In addition, it supports capacity building initiatives for teachers, school principals and education-focused NGOs. Since its inception, the foundation has granted more than 7,404 fellowships and it is the first Egyptian foundation to support Ph.Ds. and research at international universities.

Programmes
Educators empowerment programme
Provides educators with specialised training sessions, enrollment in accredited certifications, and opportunities to participate in global competitions and international conferences. This programme also offers scholarships for advanced study levels as well as workshops that improve teacher skills.Gifted youth programme
This programme identifies gifted junior students in STEM majors and offers high-achievers scholarships to further pursue their studies.
Magdi Yacoub Fellowship
This fellowship programme sponsors the research team of Aswan Heart Foundation to pursue their medical research in top universities and research centres around the world. It aims to enhance their research skills and experience so they can bring it back and apply it in the Aswan Health Centre in Egypt.
NGO capacity building programme
Aimed at enhancing the larger development ecosystem and supporting other Egyptian NGOs, this programme helps ensure those organisations are better equipped to create impactful initiatives and achieve sustainable development.
