Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences

This foundation was created in 2023 to combine the existing Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance and the Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences under one umbrella. Its aim is to spread a culture of talent, innovation, excellence, quality, and creativity in educational and medical institutions at both local and international levels. Programmes include academic scholarships, the FabLab, and holiday camps for gifted students hosted at the Hamdan bin Rashid Centre for Giftedness and Creativity.

  • FabLab

    FabLab (Fabrication Laboratory) provides digital manufacturing opportunities to Emirati youth. It is an affiliate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Fab Foundation connecting it to manufacturers, scientists, engineers, teachers and students from more than 1,000 labs across some 60 countries.

  • Hamdan Bin Rashid Center for Giftedness and Innovation

    This is an incubator to nurture gifted Emirati students and give them exposure to an elite group of experts and specialists.

  • Scholarship programme

    In partnership with the College of Education at the United Arab Emirates University, the foundation provides 10 postgraduate scholarships for MA in Innovative Education. It also works with the Al Maktoum College of Higher Education in Scotland offering selected students opportunities to join leadership exhange programmes.
